Fasteris announced new low cost services for next-Generation DNA sequencing. By selling only part of runs, it enables researches with small projects to access this technology at unprecedented prices.
Fasteris also acquired a MiSeq system.

Fasteris launched low cost run on the HiSeq: for CHF 380 we sell 10% of a single-reads channel of 1x50 bases.

Using this service, a whole bacterial genome re-sequencing project, including library preparation and bioinformatics costs less than CHF 1'500.

We also announced the acquisition of a MiSeq system, the little brother of the HiSeq that permits sequencing 50 bases in a few hours.
