NOVEL DISPLACER FOR CATION EXCHANGE DISPLACEMENT CHROMATOGRAPHY

The objective of this invention is a special poly(diallyldialkylammonium halogenide)(PDADMAC) type, its synthesis, and its use as displacer in cationic displacement chromatography for the separation of biomolecules. This oligomeric PDADMAC is permanently charged, possesses a homogeneous linear structure as well as a narrow molar mass distribution. Its application allows the separation and concentration of, for example, proteins in a single step. A recovery yield between 80 and 97% was proved in addition to concentration by a factor of 2.5 to 4. Column regeneration can be easily performed.

Potential Commercial applications
¨
Separation, purification and concentration of proteins, peptides or antibodies
¨ Cationic displacement chromatography
¨ Separation of multi-component mixtures
