HUG discovering, supplying service of expertise, summary provisition, objectives
The support activities related to discoveries resulting from the research activities by the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) are determined according to the agreement signed between the University of Geneva and the HUG.
Unitec’s mission consists in supplying a service of expertise in all aspects linked to technology transfers and abilities. It is furthermore asked by the HUG to protect the discoveries whose values are liable to be enhanced.
SUMMARY OF THE 2002 PROVISIONS IN FAVOUR OF THE HUG
During 2002, the office has assisted more than 15 groups of the HUG totalling :
10 invention announcements (AI) received.
12 collaboration agreements examined and commented upon, of which four have been signed with industrial partners.
One patent submitted and actualised with a Swiss company.
One Option signed.
One agreement for material transfer (MTA) examined and commented upon

2003 Objectives
Pursuit and development of the support given to hospital researchers by enhancing the value of their research.
Development of improved abilities related to contracts pertaining to clinical research.
Reinforcement of the circulation of information related to technology transfer and abilities within the HUG.
Detailed Register of HUG cases followed by Unitec in 2002
